How fast will I see results?

Everyone is different. With this medication patients start feeling the effects very fast. But there is no way to tell how quickly they will lose weight. Ask your medical professional what a realistic timeframe for you to reach your goals with this program.

How Does This Program Compare With Low Carb Diets?

Low carb diets like the paleo diet, keto diets, and others are great. We need to reduce our carbohydrate intake. We need to stabilize our protein intake. Carbohydrates really do cause a lot of weight gain, but this medicine stands out. It is so profound in the fact that the patient takes it and they don’t feel hunger. Hunger is the number one thing that causes people to fall off the wagon with their diets. You’re fighting a natural urge to eat. With this medication that urge to eat goes away after you eat your natural portion size. You can’t out eat this medication. It will signal your brain that you are full and you will stop eating.

How exactly does this medicine work?

The medicine is basically a type of protein called a peptide. It’s naturally occurring in the body. We’re all born with this protein, but the problem is through the years, the protein begins to diminish. This peptide penetrates the blood-brain barrier, (the barrier between the spinal cord and the brain) and goes to a part of your brain called the hippocampus that controls your appetite and your satiety. When you take this medicine you feel full after a few bites of eating.

Will I still get all the nutritional value I need in my diet?

A healthy normal portion size is typically determined by the palm of your hand. This medication is bringing us back to the natural portion sizes that we are designed to eat. Now we do have patients that are very heavy, greater than 300lbs., or even the 270 lb. range. For some of those patients it may be recommended to take multivitamin supplementation. All of these questions are answered during your visit with one of our doctors.

How do you customize the medicine for each patient?

The peptide is going to impact your satiety, but there are other things that we know that can help. For example, B12. B12 fundamentally works by increasing the metabolic rate. The rate that each cell in your body burns energy, so we add B12 to our custom blended medication.

What are some of the side effects from this medicine?

Every medication has some side effects for some people. Semaglutide Side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, headache, tiredness, fatigue, upset stomach, dizziness, feeling bloated, belching, gas, stomach flu, and heartburn. if you are having any side effects that are bothersome, tell your healthcare provider

The Heavy Cost of Obesity

Obesity increases the risk for many serious diseases and health conditions:

  • All-causes of death (mortality)

  • High LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol or high levels of triglycerides
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Coronary heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Sleep apnea and breathing problems
  • Many types of cancer
  • Low quality of life and self esteem
  • Mental illness such as clinical depression, anxiety, and other mental disorders
  • Body pain and difficulty with physical functioning

Your body also has a “set point” which is the number on the scale your weight normally hovers around. The treatment plan creates a new, lower set point after you lose your
weight goal amount.
